Our crickets are grown under the strictest conditions - they need to be! The Amphibian Research Centre is growing crickets to feed some of the world's most critically endangered species.
Our quarantine facility is protected from pests and diseases without the use of pesticides. We only use the highest-grade food possible and your crickets are treated with the same care as our own - we pack your crickets straight from the same boxes we use to feed our endangered frogs.
On top of that, we offer the cheapest crickets. We are a conservation centre, not a profit-driven commercial business, so the normal profits are shared by you and our conservation projects. And we will beat our competitors' prices - just ask!
Current postage charges are:
$5.50 AUD
per delivery by regular post (Victoria only), and
$9.00 AUD
per delivery by Express Post

Note: each "delivery" can contain any number of crickets.
In an effort to provide consistency of postage costs to our customers, we try to offer a fixed price for postage (listed above). However, in some instances (particularly to more distant Express Post destinations) postage costs can be considerably higher than $9.00. In these instances we may choose to contact you to discuss a fair compromise. If the difference is small we will usually absorb the cost. If it is significant, we will come to an agreed value with you before we charge you.
We may choose to send some orders at the $9.00 rate until we are able to determine your purchase pattern and costs. In these cases we are choosing to absorb the costs but reserve the right to contact you to discuss an increased postage charge for future orders once a pattern of cost has been established.
Insect deliveries can be made to anywhere in Australia. To ensure your crickets survive the journey, deliveries to destinations outside Victoria must be sent via Express Post.
Orders are sent out each Tuesday. Orders should be placed before Sunday to ensure posting on the following Tuesday. If you do not want your order sent on the first Tuesday after processing, please mention the desired start date in the comments field when the order is finalised during "checkout".

Insect orders will be sent separately to other merchandise.

The "frequency" is ignored unless a value other than 0 (zero) is chosen for "additional deliveries".
When ordering, it is desirable that the "frequency" and the "additional deliveries" options are identical across the different insect types when placing a mixed order. (It's cheaper for you too, as it will minimise the number of deliveries and delivery charge).
Choosing "ongoing payment" allows you to create an ongoing order without the need to pay for multiple deliveries in advance. The ARC will continue to send your insects at the frequency you have selected and your credit card will automatically be charged at the time of each delivery. If at any time you would like to cancel your ongoing order, you can select the "cancel ongoing payment" product in the "Manage orders" category.
